Ziggurat Dubai

2. Latest carbon-neutral super-structure to hit Dubai. 
3. Design done by Dubai-based environmental design firm Timelinks. 
4. Pyramid will cover 2.3 square kilometers. 
5. This structure would consist of 12 separate buildings forming a pyramid and supporting a 1.47km tall tower in the centre.
6. Will be able to sustain a community of 1 million. 
7. An integrated 360 degree transportation network (horizontally and vertically) 
8. The key to the success of this concept is its public transport system which seems to be a cross between a lift, a monorail and a super computer
9. Car free city. 
10. With the close proximity of hospitals, schools, workplaces and leisure amenities contained within the Ziggurat, less stress is placed upon commuting. 
11. Can be almost totally self-sufficient energy-wise. 
12. Apart from using steam power in the building we will also employ wind turbine technology to harness natural energy resources. 
13. Complexes which take up less than 10% of the original land surface. 
14. Public and private landscaping will be used for leisure pursuits or irrigated as agricultural land 
15. Will employ natural renewable energy resources of solar, wind and steam. 
16. Facial recognition technology for security purposes 
17. "Ziggurat" also raises a very important issue: are people willing to live in a mega building of 2.3 sq km? Will the thought of living in a machine comfort people? 
18. Ziggurat would probably be the world's most densely-populated city. 
19. Critics have some doubts about the plan's food supply and waste systems.
